On June 3rd, Umatilla Elementary School held their 18th annual Rocket Launch Day.   This tradition encourages students to “Reach for the Stars” in their educational pursuits.  Educators at Umatilla credit model rocketry as “the most significant source of inspiration for children who become scientists and engineers.” This event is for 5th graders only and is their final grade school project.  The students work together to learn about and assemble rockets.  The event counts on support […]
