Water Treatment Plant

The scope of work included final design, preparation of construction plans, permitting and construction management for a new 3.24 mgd water treatment plant with an ultimate capacity of 5.76 mgd. All subconsultants worked directly for Booth, Ern, Straughan & Hiott, Inc. . The plant design consisted of the following major components: design of three and construction of two, 12″, 1,500 gpm potable water wells in accordance with Chapter 62-524 F.A.C. (Delineated Wells) a 500,000 gallon ground storage tank with aeration, two VFD controlled high service pumps with a capacity of 2,000 gpm each, one VFD controlled jockey pump with a capacity of 500 gpm, electrical and controls, standby power, chlorination facilities, a high service pump building, and approximately 3,800 LF of offsite distribution system improvements.

Construction Cost: $2,001,000.00 (plant)
$190,000.00 (wells)

Completion Date: November 2001
Anticipated Complete January, 2012
